Master of Science in Hydrographic
Surveying (12 months)
Description of
Training:
The Master’s in Hydrographic Surveying at University College London is
taught jointly with the Port
of London Authority. It
is a full-time twelve month program in modern hydrographic surveying, starting
in September each year. The aim of the program is to educate students for
careers in marine surveying in its broadest sense, whether in the offshore
sector or in port, estuary, or coastal surveys. The Master’s in Hydrographic
Surveying is recognized as a Category A program by the International Federation
of Surveyors (FIG) and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), with
specialist options in Nautical Charting Hydrography and Hydrography for Coastal
Zone Management.
Prerequisites:
▪ Good English.
▪ Bachelor’s degree, or
its equivalent, in oceanography, marine studies, geography, civil engineering,
geology, mathematics, or physics.
Application Process:
Applications
are made using a standard UCL Graduate Studies application form. This is available from the Graduate School
(see www.ucl.ac.uk/admission/pg/) or on request from the Departmental Secretary
(see contact information at top of page). The completed forms should be
sent to the College Admissions Office, accompanied by supporting references. Applications
are accepted throughout the year but applicants are advised to apply as early
as possible to ensure commencement in the following September.
